CD storage question

I keep my CDs in a large CD binder. I really like this method of
keeping them all together in one compact space, neat and easy to access.

My one concern is with the covers/booklets. I take them out before
tossing the jewel cases, and have them saved separately. I'd love to
store them with the CDs, but don't want to take up a separate slot for
the booklet, essentially cutting the storage capacity of the binder in
half.

Is it safe to put the booklet in the slot, and put the CD directly
behind it? Only the front, non-data side would be touching the paper,
so it seems it would be OK, but I'm not sure. Would it be better to get
some of those little vinyl envelopes to put the CDs in first, just in
case? I'd rather avoid having to do that, but if it would be safer, I
would.

Any input would be much appreciated, thank you!

I just toss mine in loose, between the "pages" where their CD's are. If
the sleeve is thin enough (like from the back of a jewel case), I'll
stick it in the same slot as the CD.

Yes, it's fine to do it that way. We have a few thousand music CD's (DH was
a DJ in his past) and most are stored exactly like this.

This is pretty technical but it has good information. I often recommend
it to people planning new library space.

I've stored CD's and inserts as you describe for quite a few years. So
far no problems with it for me.

so you store them and simply discard the

in,
I normally group them by artist, for favorite singers and groups that I
have several CDs of, or by categories, like all my Time-Life Rock and
Roll Era '50s music CDs. Other random ones I just kind of put together,
and I try to leave a little extra space for any new ones in the
different categories.
